Welcome to Parler. Here's how it works.

Parler is a reading-helper app for kids learning a new language, including their own. Type or paste a sentence, and Parler reads it back word by word, in the language they're learning, with each word highlighted in time with the voice. Then it generates a friendly illustration to go with it.

Parents can capture pages from real books too. Point your camera at a page, and Parler will pull the words off and read them aloud the same way. Everything saves into a private library that's just for your family.

• Stories: your kid's library of sentence decks. Tap one to read it, swipe through the pages, or open it in Book mode to read full-screen with the illustration as the background.
• Pages: anything you've captured with the camera. Each page reads aloud word by word, taps a single word to repeat it, and supports zoom and speed adjustment.
• Children: manage names, sign-in codes, reading language, what each child is allowed to do (capture, delete, generate illustrations, pick illustration styles, etc.).
• Billing: your plan, illustration credits, and secure subscription management via Stripe.

Reading, listening, OCR (camera-to-text) and translation are unlimited on every paid plan. The one thing that costs a credit is generating an AI illustration.

• 1 credit = 1 AI-generated illustration.
• Plan credits reset at the start of every billing cycle and do not roll over.
• Pack credits (one-time top-ups) never expire. They stack on top of your monthly plan.
• If a generation fails for any reason, the credit is refunded automatically.

Pick the plan that fits how often you read together. You can change or cancel from your billing page anytime.

One-time illustration packs

Kids never need an email or password. From your dashboard, generate an 8-character sign-in code per child. They tap I have a code on any tablet or phone, type it in, and they're in.

You decide what each kid can do: capture pages from a book, delete old ones, change reading speed, write their own stories, generate illustrations, and which illustration styles they're allowed to use. Defaults are conservative; open them up as your child grows into them.

Generating a new code rotates the old one immediately, so a lost tablet doesn't risk continued access.

When a parent or older child types a custom sentence, Parler runs it through two automated safety filters before saving: a fast keyword check, then a Gemini-based theme review. Sentences that mention violence, drugs, sexual content, slurs, or scary themes that aren't appropriate for young readers are rejected with a clear message. Mild fairy-tale conflict and everyday accidents are fine.

AI illustrations are generated using Google Imagen with the same safety settings, and prompts are pre-shaped to keep results kid-safe.

15 reading languages today: English (US / UK / Australia / Canada), Français (France / Canada), Español (España / Latinoamérica), Português (Brasil / Portugal), Deutsch, Italiano, 中文, 日本語, العربية. The app interface uses the language you sign in with. Each child can have a different reading language from yours.

The highlight is ahead of (or behind) the voice

Open any story, tap the tune icon next to the highlight toggle, and slide left/right until the highlight matches the voice. The setting is per-device.

A page wouldn't capture

Make sure the page is well-lit and lying flat. If your child has capture pages turned off, the camera button won't show up for them. Turn it on under Settings on their child page.

I'm out of illustrations mid-month

Buy a one-time pack from Billing. Packs never expire and stack on top of your plan.

• Subscriptions auto-renew monthly until you cancel from the billing page or the Stripe portal.
• We don't issue prorated refunds for partial months unless your local consumer law requires it. Pack purchases are non-refundable once credits have been redeemed.
• Plan changes take effect immediately; downgrading sets your new allowance from the next renewal.
• Illustration generation runs on Google Imagen, so output is AI and occasionally surprising. Generate again if you don't like the first take. Failed generations are refunded automatically.
• Parler is for personal, household use. Classroom and school plans are coming; talk to us before bulk-onboarding students.
